About Nylint Toys
Version #2  -  1957-61
Version #4
Nylint Construction Toys
Version #2 was made for five years, but Nylint
literature kept depicting the 1956-57 version.
Dual headlights flanking an integrally stamped
sheet metal grille are characteristic of Version #2.
The "authorized by"
decal shown on Version
#1 was dropped.
The rear stabilizer bar
was now black.
The boom control wheel
is now cast metal and
uses a spring-loaded
catch mechanism. Note
"Operating Instructions."
The 3-spoke bucket
control wheel remains
the same from Version
#1.
A cast steering wheel
replaces the stamped
wheel from the first
version.
Sometimes referred to
as "wagon" style
steering, the second
version was definitely
cheaper to produce.
Only the top section of
the boom is 4-sided. The
lower section is 3-sided.
These good-looking
wheels suffered a slight
modification on Versions
#3 and #4.
The same door decal
was used for the first
three versions.
Original rigging was very
thick string. The bucket
release disc remained
the same except for the
magnet Version #4.
Version #3  -  1962-65
Version #3 was prevalent in Nylint advertising,
from 1962-65, sometimes shown with magnet.
Version #3 used a "stick-on" paper grille
enclosed in a retangular stamping.
The rear deck angle
brace was omitted from
Version #3
Both upper and lower
sections of the boom
had only 3 sides.
The boom lift wheel
remained the same as
Version #2
A 4-spoke cast wheel
replaced the stamped
3-spoke wheel from
Version #2.
There was no steering
mechanism on Version
#3.
Just a straight axle
through punched holes
in the frame.
