It is believed this generic truck was the predecessor to the Cities Service version. Based on the 1961
box date (see below) it is possible that Cities Service requested Ideal to make their special issue toy.

Most of the features of this generic truck were

The big difference was, of course, color, but the

This truck has nothing to do with Gas Station toys other than that it happens to be contemporary with
the Gasoline Truck shown above. These toys were admittedly a bit on the flimsy side and few survived.

A view of the "roomy trailer" for which the box invites the owner to pile on the load. But, a look at the
skinny axle and weak suspension points foretells a certain doom. Many were probably sat upon.
