#6000 - American Emergency Unit - 1963-67
|
The American Emergency Unit was another very popular toy and many were made. The earliest
versions had the two-symbol decal shown here. Although the following trucks display a three-symbol
decal, the Nylint catalogs always showed the two-symbol design.

This three-symbol decal truck was probably introduced in 1964. Clues to its date of manufacture
include the lack of the double 1965 oval symbol on the box.

Judging by the box and its accompanying "Stranded!" booklet, this toy looks like it was produced
especially for American Oil promotional purposes and probably sold at gas stations.
